AECOM has supported the U.S. Air Force mission for 65+ years

AECOM currently has 30+ contracts serving U.S. Air Forces bases worldwide.

AECOM has completed $2B in project value for the U.S. Air Force in the last 10 years.

AECOM has executed 2,000 task orders for the U.S. Air Force in the last 10 years.

AECOM is an industry leader that consistently earns top ENR rankings in the following categories:

U.S. Air Force Academy Cadet Chapel Restoration

As the prime contractor, AECOM and our collaborative partners are performing restoration and repairs to the building envelope of the iconic U.S. Air Force Academy Cadet Chapel in Colorado Springs.

AECOM's team used theoretical models that simulate Colorado's thermodynamics and wind conditions to inform the replacement design.

Tyndall Air Force Base Recovery Plan

After Hurricane Michael devastated Tyndall Air Force Base in Florida, AECOM led the development of a fast-tracked recovery plan and is now working on a design package to help move the vision forward.

The Category 5 storm damaged 95% of the base's structures.

The AECOM team incorporated the input of nearly 200 stakeholders to turn the catastrophe into an opportunity to improve mission-critical facilities and infrastructure.

The plan seeks not just to repair and rebuild the base, but to reshape it into an "installation of the future" by improving operational efficiencies, mitigating future storm impacts, and increasing long-term growth capacity.

U.S. Air Force Madera Cyber Innovation Center

AECOM has partnered with the U.S. Air Force Academy to design the 44,000-square-foot facility, also known as Cyberworx. It will be a unique reconfigurable space intended for innovative collaboration among the U.S. Air Force, academia, and industry.

In 2022, the project team was recognized with the "Grand Design Award (Planning Design Studies)" at the Society of American Military Engineers' Joint Engineer Training Conference.

Former McClellan Air Force Base Soil & Groundwater Remediation

For more than 25 years, AECOM has been the prime remediation contractor for the Air Force Civil Engineer Center at former McClellan Air Force Base in California.

AECOM designed and currently operates a consolidation unit at the installation for disposing of onsite waste, which has saved the Air Force millions of dollars in offsite disposal costs.

AECOM is also optimizing soil and groundwater remediation with the design and implementation of an in-situ treatment that will shorten overall cleanup efforts by a projected 17 years.

Our work at the BRAC site has been recognized by the American Society of Civil Engineers (Sacramento) as "Land Development and Reuse Project of the Year".

U.S. Air Force Academy Sijan Hall Renovation Design

We're providing A/E services for a complex, five-phase renovation of the third largest dormitory in the U.S.

Sijan Hall is a contributing structure to the Cadet Area historic landmark on the U.S. Air Force Academy campus, and will remain occupied throughout construction, which includes renovating the full interior and exterior and a complete rebuild of its support systems.

Our team is carefully combining historic preservation with modernizing architecture and functions to create a revitalized facility that fosters collaboration and improves cadet well-being while meeting high-performance and sustainable building design requirements.

Wake Island Taxiway and Cargo Pad Repairs

To expand airfield parking accommodations that better suit the dimensions of a variety of new aircraft, AECOM provided design-build construction services to complete repairs of the location's taxiway and cargo pad.

Highly technical marine mobilization was necessary to access the 2.85-square-mile island and ensure successful delivery of all project materials and equipment to one of the most remote regions in the world.

Approximately 38,000 CY of concrete was poured and stringless paving technologies with digital models to control paver path and elevation were used.

C-17 Corrosion Control Hangar & Maintenance Facility

Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam in Hawaii required the design and construction of new facilities to properly perform aircraft maintenance for a squadron of C-17 Globemaster IIIs.

AECOM worked closely with all stakeholders to complete the fast-track design and provide construction management services for a fully-enclosed 60,000-square-foot corrosion control hangar and a 20,000-square-foot maintenance facility for these aircraft.
