Join us for a fabulous day of sailing on the mighty Columbia River and swing dancing to live music on Government Island under a full moon

Meet at the public dock next to the M. James Gleason Memorial Boat Ramp at 4325 NE Marine Drive, Portland

 

Schedule of events

Noon            —       leave the public dock by sailboat

2 to 4           —       arrive on Government Island

4 to 5:30      —       potluck picnic

5:30 to 6      —       dance lesson

6 to 8          —       swing dancing to live music

8 to 10         —       sail back to the public dock

I am a lifelong sailor and longtime East Coast swing dancer. I have taken more than 400 people sailing on the Columbia River over the past five years. This event will bring together two of my passions: sailors who have never danced swing will get an introduction to that style of dance and swing dancers who have never sailed will get an introduction to the sport.
